Somatic Experiencing Integrated Psychotherapy
Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented approach that works with your nervous system's natural capacity to settle and self-regulate.
It invites us to do something we're not very practiced at: less thinking and more experiencing…paying attention to what is happening underneath the story we tell, not just the story itself.

How I work
I work relationally and at an unhurried pace, paying close attention to your nervous system's own signals about what it's ready for next.
My practice includes a Somatic Experiencing orientation, deepened through ongoing work with Kathy Kain's Touch Skills training.
About Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing works by noticing and tracking what's actually happening in your body…sensations, tension, breath, small movements…rather than staying only in the realm of thought and story.
A session might involve noticing where you feel something in your body, orienting to the safety of the room around you, or slowing down enough to let a small amount of activation move through and settle.
Nothing about this requires you to relive what happened or perform any particular reaction. Your body already knows how to self-regulate. This work simply makes space for that capacity to come back online, at whatever pace works for you.
