Healing from Trauma

Trauma is not simply the events we experience but the unprocessed responses held within us, affecting and disrupting our connection to ourselves and others.

Sometimes, we feel stuck...
like we are in a loop.

When we are overwhelmed by too much happening too quickly, our bodies respond with a cascade of automatic, involuntary reactions. These responses are natural and protective, never wrong, simply the body’s way of managing what feels like a threat.

There is no shame in our trauma responses—they aren't choices we make. At their core, these reactions are our body’s way of protecting us.

If you're curious about exploring trauma and how it may be affecting you, reach out to schedule a consult and start your journey toward greater peace and well-being.

How I Work

I work relationally, which means that our relationship is part of how change happens. You are not a diagnosis, and you are not a protocol to be run. You're a unique person who deserves presence and attention.

Together, we’ll move at an unhurried pace, and we build upon our work as your system allows. You always have the gas and the brake.

You won't be asked to retell every detail of what happened, and we won't push you into overwhelm or dissociation. Instead, we build your capacity to tolerate discomfort and to skillfully discern what happened then from what's happening now...loosening the old patterns' grip on your present.

The goal is to create space for steady, neutral ground, and from there build upon ease and working less hard to navigate your everyday

Maybe you are:

Feeling like nothing is safe: You avoid certain places, people, or situations, and your world seems to get smaller as you try to protect yourself from feeling overwhelmed.
Struggling with self-blame: You may be shaming yourself for how you react to everyday life, feeling that your responses are "too much" or "not normal."
Shutting down: You frequently feel locked up or frozen in certain situations, as if your body is responding to a threat that's not immediately present.
Living in a constant state of tension: You feel like you're always on the verge of losing control, with a short fuse that leaves you anxious about what might happen next.
Revisiting past trauma: You find yourself thinking about a specific scene or experience over and over again; it feels as if it's happening right now, even though it's in the past.

And you want:

To cultivate a lasting sense of safety: You wish for a sense of safety that accompanies you every day, allowing you to navigate the world with greater confidence and ease.
To feel grounded and present: You long for ease, to feel grounded and able to connect with the present moment without being overwhelmed by past experiences or future anxieties.
To find comfort in rest: You desire to feel safe and secure when you go to sleep at night, allowing your mind and body to relax and recharge without fear.
To increase resilience to daily stressors: You hope to build greater tolerance for life’s daily challenges, allowing you to respond calmly instead of feeling overwhelmed.

If this resonates with you, reach out to schedule a consult and take the first step toward healing and reclaiming your sense of peace.

When our trauma responses take over in moments where we are truly safe, our ability to live the life we deserve can feel out of our reach.

Rooted in past experiences, these responses can feel overwhelming, but healing is possible with the right support.

Healing is not about erasing the past but about reclaiming the safety and peace that are possible in the present.

With the support of an empathetic witness, you can begin to untangle from the habits, patterns, and strategies that have helped you survive the confusion of trauma responses.

It’s possible to reduce the intensity of these experiences and expand your capacity to tolerate life’s stressors. You can learn to feel grounded, embrace a sense of safety within yourself, and build resilience in the face of challenges.

Healing doesn’t mean the end of all difficulties, but it does mean that you can approach life with a sense of balance and inner strength that once felt out of reach.

Trauma may look like:

Intrusive thoughts

"Why can't I stop thinking about this?"

Dissociation

"I zone out and feel disconnected from everything around."

Heightened reactivity

"My reactions feel bigger than the situation calls for."

Feeling constantly unsafe

"No matter where I am, I never feel truly safe—my guard is always up."

Emotional numbness

"I feel like I should care, but I just don’t feel anything."

Difficulty trusting others

"I’m always waiting for people to let me down or hurt me."

Avoidance

"I go out of my way to avoid certain places, conversations, or people—even when it makes life harder."
